This past weekend we stopped by SPOCOM’s NorCal Edition show, held at Club Auto Sport in San Jose. SPOCOM describes their events as “where tastemakers converge”:
SPOCOM is the nation’s largest automotive consumer exhibit and show focusing on the culture surrounding young adults. Each event features over 75 of the industry’s top brands, media, and event promoters on display as well as 350+ of the nations top show cars competing for the most prestigious car show trophy in the country. The SPOCOM tour reaches out to automotive & pop culture tastemakers alike.
That’s some pretty lofty claims for a car show, but that puts them directly in competition with other similar events like BLOX Evolution, Wekfest and Hot Import Nights, all of which held their shows recently in the SF Bay Area as well. Having attended several of these shows recently, we definitely saw a good number of familiar cars from the NorCal community, making yet another showing in the hopes of scoring the gigantic “sword” trophy that SPOCOM is known for awarding.
The venue for this show, Club Auto Sport, is an interesting location. It’s an automotive-oriented commercial and retail space that serves as home to different businesses such as Club Sportiva and Supreme DetailWorks.
And of course no car show would be complete without the beautiful models. We snapped a few who were kind enough to pose for us.
We had to leave early unfortunately, just as the bikini contest was about to get started, so obviously we missed some of the excitement of that and the awards ceremony. But Hopefully our photos will give you a taste of the kind of event that SPOCOM puts on around the country.
