Even though summer is over and our 86DRIVE SummerDRIVES are behind us the weather remains fantastic and the roads still beckon… So this weekend we gathered in San Jose for some more driving fun. We set our sights on the Gizdich Ranch in Watsonville, and headed down some of the back roads in search of some sweet apple pie.
You can use the map below to plan your own route.
Our group last visited Gizdich Ranch over a year ago, and I fondly remembered the delicious Dutch Apple pie that they offer up. If you are into some of the berries they grow locally like ollalieberry or raspberry they have those types of pie too, but for me, the apple pie is the one to have. A few of us chipped in on a whole pie and a pint of ice cream to enjoy the fresh pie a-la-mode right there on the spot. The pies did not disappoint!
Anyways I think everyone had a good time taking in the sights and having some great pie, so perhaps we will make an effort to come out here from time to time, and maybe it doesn’t just have to be a once-a-year thing! Thanks to everyone who came out and joined us on the drive, it was great seeing you all and we’ll see you at the next meet or drive! Which you should consult our Events Calendar to see just where and when that will be.
