This past weekend local MR2 and Celica owners gathered at Shadow Cliffs Regional Park in Pleasanton, CA for a fun BBQ and car meet. A local SW20 MR2 guy by the name of Mitchell Kim was the mastermind of this meet, which he envisions taking place 4 times a year, coining the name “The Four Seasons Celica/MR2 Meet”. Their first meet was in Winter, and this was the Spring 2014 meet.
A very good turnout of Celicas and MR2s of all generations came out and I have to say it was nice to see so many people still enthusiastic about a pair of cars that are in some people’s eyes, “old news”. Production of both of these Toyota models ended some years ago, but as demonstrated in the photos below, they’re still eye-catching and a great ride to be proud of owning.
If you’re interested in coming out for future meets with these guys, add Mitchell Kim as a friend on Facebook and he will send you future invites to these events. The next event is being planned for Summer 2014 and Mitchell promises it will be somewhere along the coast so there will be a fun and scenic cruise to the meeting spot. Although the meet is geared towards Celicas and MR2s, all cars are welcome to join as long as they follow the rules and stay respectful! I’m looking forward to the Summer meet, it will be another great opportunity to put the top down on my MR2 Spyder and cruise along the coast to somewhere fun.
