The new span of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge recently opened, and many of us had not yet crossed the newly constructed bridge. This was the first weekend since the bridge opened to the public, so we decided to call a last-minute meetup and after a quick Redwood Rd cruise, we headed to Oakland to drive across it, stopping at Treasure Island for some group photos both in front of the new span and the beautiful SF skyline. It was gorgeous weather out there and would have been painfully hot had it not been for a wonderful sea breeze that kept us comfortable. After TI a number of us cruised back over the Bay Bridge towards Alameda where we stopped for some good food truck eatin’. After that a few of us stuck around and went to visit the nearby USS Hornet aircraft carrier/museum and took a few more photos there. All in all a very fun day and I’m glad we had such a great turnout — looks like we had about 15 cars join us. Thanks to everyone who came out on such short notice!
